Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that requires users to verify themselves using a second factor after entering a username and password. As part of Sprout Social Influencer Marketing's effort to be an industry leader in data security, users are able to choose between two methods of 2FA; SMS (text message) or an authenticator app.

On Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, knowledge of the password counts as one factor. The second factor is either a code sent through text or a code generated by a mobile device.

How does 2FA work in Sprout Social Influencer Marketing?

Upon logging into Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, users are asked for a second authentication factor. There are currently two methods of 2FA on Sprout Social Influencer Marketing:

  • Text Message: A one-time token sent live to your verified phone number.

  • Authenticator App: Time-based one-time passwords (OTPs) generated by an application on your mobile phone.

Both methods use short, unique 6-digit codes that are valid for a short period of time.

How to Setup 2FA

All Sprout Social Influencer Marketing users, Creators, and Collaborators can configure 2FA for their accounts. To do so, head to User Settings, then select "Security".

2FA in Action
